Badminton School

Rebecca Geobel

Rebecca has not ventured past the science block. With her A levels of Biology Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics this has held her tightly to STEM’s grasp. There is much to be appreciate with these subjects of perfect logic, and the whole organism , a human, to explore. However, she does expand her horizons and venture beyond the hill on which the science block lies. She loves MUN, to see the world from a different perspective, forcing yourself into others’ experiences, Debating too, she appreciates the passion used for the fight, and deeply understands the power of word in all futures, especially her hopeful, medicine. Although the sports teachers would (rightly) testifies that Rebecca is no sportsman her heart settles on the grace attributed to ballet and precision to tennis. At day’s end you can find her with a good book or baking and delivering the scraps to her dogs.

Despite her distinct lack of literary skills, Amy has been part of the school debate team for the last three years and she loves a good argument. Amy also enjoys playing competitive tennis and is a music scholar, who surprisingly has no singing ability. She loves to cook and bake in her spare time and makes the world’s best chocolate orange cake. As shown by this eclectic mix of hobbies, Amy is willing to try anything.

In particular, she has participated in various school productions, including Singing in the Rain, Pride and Prejudice and the current production of Annie. She wishes to pursue a career in mechanical engineering, which explores machinery and vehicles. She wishes to go to Russell group universities such as Oxford Cambridge and Bristol. She spends her free time exploring the world of life simulation games, more specifically the Sims franchise. She has a niche where she collects nik naks from wherever she goes. She puts herself out there in her community and gets involved in as many school volunteering opportunities as possible. She lives in organised chaos which simulates how her brain works with multiple creative ideas.

Downend School

Anisha Kaur

Anisha explored her identity through her love of books and writing. Most 16-year-olds, like her, probably used to think of reading as a chore such as in primary school, but it’s only in the last year that she’s used her love for reading as a way to communicate with people and help find hidden interests about herself. At the start of year 10, she started to enjoy writing speeches and wanted to present them one day. She wrote them based on the stereotypes in society and wanted to use her voice to advocate the things that really matter. Her A Levels went down the route of what she enjoyed and to help her with her career; Psychology, Geography and Health and Social Care. From this hobby, she found her future career path, of wanting to be a teacher.

Trinity Academy Bristol

Sumayyah Hussaini

Sumayyah studies Maths, Chemistry and English Literature. In the future, she aspires to work as a doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, because, strangely, she loves to study and discovered an attachment to the idea of working in maternity at the birth of her younger sister ten years ago, when Sumayyah and her family lived in Saudi Arabia. Living in Riyadh for eleven years, she had the opportunity to study subjects like Arabic that aren’t offered here. She loves to write – but in particular she prefers novel-writing to shorter, creative writing as she understands the process more and feels more connected to the characters and story that way. In addition to this reasoning, Sumayyah loves to read and judges a good book for how well she resonates with it, becoming so attached to a good narrative that it changes her thought process and mannerisms on a whole.

From a young age, Imogen has learnt musical instruments, such as guitar, violin and piano. She’s also an avid reader and has a particular interest in exploring how people engage with each other in the modern world. Strangely, she seems to have no social anxiety and will willingly talk to anybody about absolutely anything, much to the disbelief of her friends. She’s donated nearly a metres worth of her hair to charities that make wigs for children suffering with cancer.

She also loves art having studied it at GCSE and being raised in a creative family, she loves to design rooms as well as her outfits and making little crafts for family and friends. She is willing to throw herself into anything having just started a hospitality job and goes on camps to meet new people. She currently has very little idea of what she wants to do just something that interests her. Something unusual about her is that she hates chalk mainly due to its texture which is very upsetting as she would love to use charcoal more in my art.
